The Sanibel School serves approximately 325 students in grades kindergarten through eight. Our students live on Captiva and Sanibel Islands as well as the mainland of southwest Florida. Our school is dedicated to providing a challenging academic curriculum with an emphasis on environmental education and community connection.

Welcome to The Sanibel School website. It is a tremendous honor to be the Principal of The Sanibel School. I look forward to creating strong collaborative relationships with the staff and parents of this great community. Sanibel is a special place. I am thrilled to be in a position to positively impact the lives of students and teachers.
My Vision for The Sanibel School is to continue to build an ideal school environment that promotes the whole child. I believe that all children are leaders, and that their voice is just as important as ours. I want our students to feel safe, comfortable, challenged and engaged in class. Students and Staff will celebrate their wins. Teachers will feel supported in their teaching and be inspired to try new things. I will be in the classroom in order to support the teachers, students, and to assess the needs of the school, and of course, where students will achieve academically at high levels. My goal is that together we can make The Sanibel School World Class. This is only possible with all of us working together.
I want to thank our wonderful PTA and The Sanibel School fund for raising money to enhance the education of your child. All children will have access to Spanish K-8. All Children will learn the 7 habits of highly effective people. We have been named a 2018-2019 Leader In Me School by Franklin Covey. Children in Grades 1-8 will have access to STEM and Robotics courses. Our Fine Arts Program is offered K-8 as well. We truly believe that all students benefit from PE and recess each day at the Sanibel School. Our 6-8 grade students get to participate in sports and compete after school hours.
We believe we offer a well-rounded education on the Island of Sanibel. Hands on Learning is at the core of all we do. We certainly take advantage of our surroundings to teach children about where they live.
