Santa got plenty of help this year from his friends and helpers in Sanibel and Captiva during the Santa Run on Dec. 23. San-Cap Kiwanis Club members delivered gifts and good cheer to island kids, families, seniors, anyone on the receiving end of a holiday gift and a happy greeting from Santa Claus himself. The Santa Run is part of a holiday campaign by island nonprofits, the Friends Who Care group, social clubs and volunteers spreading the true meaning of the holidays. Six Santa helpers in full St. Nick gear delivered gifts collected at the Palm Ridge firestation. There were gifts for some 120 islanders, all donated new. Friends Who Care volunteers handled wrapped duties. –
