Americans have voted Florida as the most desirable state to live in the nation. Sunshine and water-front property seemed to be the top priorities of voters as other warm-weather states completed most of the list. Florida, the official Sunshine State, once again moved to the top.
According to Florida Realtors, Florida has jumped to the top of a list of states that Americans would be most likely to choose if they were to move. With its miles of coastline and tropical climate, Florida consistently meets the top desires of Americans looking for a fresh start.
One interesting note to the survey is America’s opinion on cities. While many desire to live in large cities, there are also many Americans who would rather live anywhere else. For example,
“Americans continue their love/hate relationship with New York City, which has topped The Harris Poll’s list of cities where Americans most want to live for well over a decade – but it also tops the list of cities they’d least like to live.”
In addition to the overall state of Florida receiving the top vote, cities within the state also received high marks. Among the Americans who desire to live in a city, Miami was ranked the #5 most desirable city to move to and Orlando rounded out the list at #10.
