The sun is shining, the lights are coming back on at homes and businesses across Sanibel and Captiva today and the islands appear on the fast track back to normalcy. Bailey’s Grocery store opened following the passing of Hurricane Irma on Sunday.
The roads are clear and all water has now been restored on Sanibel and Captiva less than three days after Hurricane Irma, although a boil order is still in effect. Electricity continues to come back on.
Another sign that things are returning to normal – today’s forecast is for a high of 87 degrees with scattered showers. It was 78 degrees at this morning on the islands.
