This morning, the Today Show’s Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb featured Sanibel Island, Florida as the number one family vacation destination in the United States. As they talked about the island, video footage from “Explore Sanibel Island,” a video produced by John R Wood Island Real Estate played in the background.
For those of us who already love it here, it’s no surprise to hear that Sanibel Island rose to the top of a list of 464 destinations across the US. To determine the winner, Family Fun Magazine partnered with Go RVing to find families who travel with children between the ages of 3 and 12. Above all the other destinations, Sanibel rose to the top of the magazine’s annual “FamilyFun Travel Awards.”
If you have ever visited Sanibel Island, you have probably experienced a deluge of questions from friends and family when you got home: “How was it?” “What did you like most?” “How was it so different?”
If you’re like me, it’s almost impossible to capture the natural beauty, bike paths, tranquility and luxury that together make up the Sanibel experience. That’s why in 2013 John R Wood Island Real Estate president Joe Mondelli contacted local videographer Dave Stinzi about publishing a video to capture the island’s beauty.
The two men worked tirelessly to interview individuals on the island who could tell the unique story of Sanibel. These interviews were paired with the highest-quality video footage taken from land, boat and plane to cover every side of the island.
The results? The video has been viewed over 114,000 times and counting. Clearly, the beauty and charm of Sanibel Island is catching on.
