One of the many things we love about Sanibel real estate is the beautiful, natural backdrop. Besides the sand, shells, and turquoise waters, the flowers and foliage native to Sanibel and Captiva islands are rich and vibrant with color.
Using plants that are indigenous to the area in your yard provides a unique and lively landscape. An added benefit, it also allows you to conserve water, reduce the use of fertilizers and pesticides, and promote the overall well-being of the natural habitat we know and love.
If you want to learn more about how to create and maintain a Florida friendly yard, there will be a Florida Yards & Neighborhoods (FYN) program at the Sanibel Public Library on October 29, starting at 9am. The educational event is offered by the Lee County Extension, and it will answer questions such as, “What’s so special about native plants?” Participants will also learn 9 principles to cultivate and sustain a Florida friendly yard.
To learn more about the event, check out the Sanibel Public Library events calendar or see the article in the Island Sun. To learn more about Sanibel real estate, contact us, search our MLS for available properties, or get in touch with one of our Sanibel realtors.
